LG’s 16:18 DualUp is a weird monitor for getting work done

Went down to one about a year ago and I don’t think I’ll ever look back. More space just meant more distractions for me :/

I use just one but it’s this massive square-ish one, i feel like the vertical style multitasking works better for me

It may be another option, but for now I use Mac mini, so an external one is necessary.

Same, I also use a mouse in my right hand and trackpad on the laptop for gestures with my left.

The same thing that goes for good design goes for screens: don’t divert attention. If you want a laptop screen on the side to check secondary info, ok, but don’t put two same sized screens next to each other. Go with a larger one.

Does anyone see the benefits of working on one monitor vs. two monitors? 
I have always worked with one monitor (32”), but recently started considering using two at a time. 

I would love to hear what everyone else has experienced.

I was thinking of moving to 2 out of 27”, but just with that in mind, I could move to a big one and a small one.

Normally prefer monitor upfront and laptop below. Laptop for more static things (emails, notes, etc) and monitor for web, IDEs, and “work”. Never bought into multiple side by side monitors.

Yeah nice. I like the trackpad on the left for zoom precision on Google Slides 🤣

I’ve always switched back and forth over the years between a dual and single monitor setup. Decided to just embrace the single monitor life and don’t have any urges to go back to dual. I love just having a single screen of focus and the space savings on my desk.

Maybe then I’ll go back to one monitor.

You will always have a crooked neck with two main screens. I use a 34” and that’s a bit too large to comfortably see the edges. Hard either way figma / framer sideboards.

I've been using a single ultra wide monitor for a few years and it has become my preferred setup. Extra room on my workspace, and then for organizing different applications I use virtual desktops.

Dual for life. For a couple of reasons: I can compartmentalise my apps (work/comms) and use one as an asset library, also so I can see how things look across diff monitors (5k/1080).

I like two. Laptop on the left, monitor on the right. I use the laptop for references/admin, and the monitor for design work.
