🚀 Exploring the Future of UX/UI in the Age of AI 🤖
This morning, a friend asked me: "Do you see a lot of growth and future in UX/UI? Or is AI stripping some of that field down to fewer and fewer roles?"
It's a valid concern given the rapid advancements in technology. However, I believe that AI is transforming them rather than stripping away opportunities.
As designers, we must adapt and learn to harness these AI platforms as tools that complement our roles, not replace them. The more versatile your skill set—spanning design and development—the more valuable you become in the industry.
The future I envision for UX/UI involves a blend of design and engineering, possibly evolving into what we might call 'UI Engineering' or 'Design Engineering.'
We're not quite there yet universally. Companies vary widely in their understanding of what "product design" entails and the scope of responsibilities it should cover.
So, is there a future in UX/UI? Absolutely! But it's likely to evolve in ways we might not currently anticipate. Let’s stay curious, keep learning, and remain adaptable to this exciting landscape.
