What’s your thoughts on splash/intro screens for apps? Irritating, fun or no thoughts? Here’s one from one of my apps. It’s too long, I know. But I like that it sets a mood. What apps have great intros in your opinion?
Yes! Agree. Depends on the app usage. No more then a second or two for when you want to get something done quickly or check something. Maybe use that time to preload stuff.
if the app must preload stuff that is in the critical path, sure. but 0 seconds will always be better than even the best 1-2 second animation. getting to first useful paint asap is my preference. if the user is not logged into the app yet, then go nuts.
