I wish we get more indie tools like Obsidian, Basecamp or any other company not to keen to sell to a VC company or get funded by it

Any company need funds to run, if they don’t have a clear way to monetise make sense that they end in one of that two ways.

Of course, and good for them. As I'm getting older, I just find it better to rely on services that either let me own my data (obsidian), or do sound business so they're here for the long run (37signals.com/policies/until…).
