I would recommend selecting a bunch of icons you like and trying to recreate them as perfectly as you can – piece by piece.

after like 10 you would learn a lot more than you can learn from tutorials and lessons, because you would reinvent these things yourself.

I'm really trying to get a hang of this. Do you have any tutorials?
