Having to recreate a Twitter / X account because of the builder community majority and not liking it.

It’s definitely declining in quality. That’s why you also see a ton of alternatives. Most of the changes implemented by Musk, like getting paid for engagement, just led to a feed filled with hot takes and other engagement traps.

I’ve been on X since last week and the community is still strong there. Only getting stronger imo with Buildspace etc. 🥲

X is such a chaotic mess now, no real system besides advertising and a lot of fake profiles. I’d say it’s definitely in the process of dissolving, with declining user numbers and decreasing content quality.

Yes, I'm [@]heyecs on 𝕏. It's a critical platform for the tech/startup community, yet the algorithm slop and amplification of really violent/hateful content is disheartening lately.

The kind of context is not my cup of tea either. I’m not even a tiktok or snapchat person. Just dog videos on insta + Posts. 

But it feels like X is a great ecosystem and not being on it is a mistake. I’ll to give it a go, if it’s affecting my peace I’ll quit X for the 3rd time

Why not Mastodon? I’d not be surprised if most of the builder community moved out of X and went to Mastodon instead. They’re builders after all.

People really still use that? That community hasn’t migrated to blue sky/threads/mastodon? What’s it’s going to take?
