My issue is with the scroll hijacking for the parallax effects. It's clearly excluding potential customers (neurodiversity, cognitive differences). But designers keep using it. Are they ignorant or careless? Animations can be beautiful without compromising accessibility.

Can we stop hyping parallax sites like Amie? The visuals are interesting, sure. Don't overlook the intentional exclusion of a wide range of humans.

I was thinking the same. The visuals are super nice I admit. But I liked the previous static site they had more. It was easier for me to see the features. It’s still a really cool product I’m learning more about. Definitely rooting for them!
It's a very odd problem in the context of how we teach design, yes? Ultimately what we think of as 'superior design' could just be social hegemony. Not sure the exact next step (esp because, admittedly, I prefer the extant hegemony).
