to my eye they are. i had my engineer tell me what Xcode converted HSL to, and it was at the latter (the version in the variable section of figma), so that gives me some comfort that the equation to convert there is reliably the same as what the product will use

can anyone help w a Figma color question? I'm trying to use HSL for my palette, but Figma defaults to HEX. That in and of itself is fine — but when entering the HSL value in the main Figma fill panel, it gives me a different a HEX value than when I enter it in the variable tool?

It's probably a bug with Figma's color profile management. Have you checked if they're visually the same color?
