Hey, Ben. I try to go with Value Based pricing. But when it makes more sense to price hourly or project wise, ballpark is 50€ (talking about east europe zone) although it IT is borderless 😃

Usually around $175-200 if hourly. $250 for one single hour.

What hourly rates are folks charging for freelance product design?

Feel like people don’t wanna share it always but I’ll just say I start at 250€/hr

Google recruitment company local design salary surveys, they usually come up with a decent median based on your market. 

The same role could be £500 / $1000 / $1500+ depending on your location.

Haven’t done freelance work for a while but based on how I calculated this stuff back in the day I would likely fall somewhere within these ranges

Day rate is 900 - 1250
Week rate is 4800 - 5500

Range depends on interest, funding, and how much I like folks.

Never hourly. Stick to day and project fees

I work solely on a weekly rate. 

While I could boil it down to a daily value, product and even brand work tends to shift in weekly sprints. For this reason, I left hourly and day rates behind years ago.

FWIW, given my focus on early-stage tech, I prefer structuring my fees half cash, half equity, where possible.

$10k/week cash/equity split — often distributed throughout the week against 2/3 max projects.
