From Apple to Airbnb, brands are finally ditching boring icons

Is this normal for company like Airbnb ? Some icons are 3d, some are 2d, border thickness is different in few places. Latest UI seems very off on the web.

I think they are adding 3d micro-illustrations to its identity. A lot of companies are moving to that trend

Yeh I am aware of their shift to 3d design but the way its being rolled out feels off also the other details like spacing and different border feels totally rushed to me
