wife is trying the Kobo because we don’t want to be locked into the kindle ecosystem. let’s see how it goes. we have an ipad too but that’s just for television and occasional doodling

Hmm, haven’t heard of Kobo before, I’ll have to check it out. But yeah, iPad is a great multitasking device which is why I was considering to buy it just as an addition to my workspace and life in general

yeah she wanted something that is more of an eink interface (as opposed to the brightness of an ipad), plus the battery life is way longer on the e-readers. We picked Kobo because they work lots of different media formats, so you can buy stuff from anywhere, not just amazon.

Nice. Thanks for the recommendation. I think iPad will be my second purchase after an e-reader

kindle all the way. I read it most nights before bed and since I sleep on my back, the kindle is much less painful to drop on your face. also if I got an ipad mini for reading purposes I'd have to do so much work to dumb it down to not get distracted.

Good points! Yeah I think I’ll go for a Kindle. Especially cuz of eye strain
