How are ratings less deceiving with the light design? Or was it a unrelated hint?

Light. Because, ratings (as numbers) can be deceiving as they don’t tell you the ‘full’ why behind those numbers.

Oops. I actually meant dark. By ‘light’, I was trying to say ‘less prominent’ (i.e. the top image) but ended up writing the wrong word. But I stand by my thoughts about how they can be deceiving. Basically, the less prominent the better. And the top image does that much better.

I rather look at/browse through a design that encourages (and nudges me) to read the full (worded) review rather than just rely on its accompanying rating number. I hope I’m able to convey my thoughts clearly to you :)
