The traditional village-community model will be norm again, whether Education, Work, Life or Society, and modern industrial approach towards all we do will bite dust in times to come. 

More silence, less noise!

Definitely… it’s been helpful to large and small businesses to advertise and reach customers. Advertising agencies have been able to sell their services for social media, which employs creatives. The whole thing seems like a house of cards though… what do users get out of it?

The whole Modern Social Media & Tech/Design revolution is nothing but new installment in continuation of Control Revolution as James Beniger talks in his seminal work. First they moved people spread across villages & towns to big Cities, then factories, Office and then SM!

the idea of “shared cultural experience” seems not possible with algorithms — unless very light parameters set. 

“small community” experience seems much more delightful — like Posts only

That’s very true… if we’ve learned anything from social media at scale it’s that algorithms appear to cause more harm than add value for users. I’m enjoying the small community aspect of Posts as well.

Open question: Who really wants or needs large social media platforms?

This is what bothers me about threads… I have been an early adopter of all social media since MySpace, but I feel I’ve finally hit a wall where I just can’t do any more.

It is not Social but 'Social Engineering Media' designed to enslave & mine human potential to make as much money possible, like it happened in Europe's Feudal-Manor system. Similar ideology, identical design!

Can’t wait for small distributed communities to become the norm again

twitter was a way to 1) elevate and promote marginalized voices. and 2) more than an information network or publishing platform - it allowed for people to gather, agitate, and organize politically.
