Cut scope to 1/6th
Recently had a prospect contact me after finding me through one of my works. Everything went super smoothly until they basically told me their budget was 1/6th of what I charge. What do you do in these types of situations?
I thought about it, but it wouldn't have helped them in any way lol. Not even if I just halved it.
"Is your goal to get the best result possible or to spend as little money as possible?" Unfortunately sometimes you just gotta pass on a client if they dont have the budget for you.
Their current setup was made by random people on fiverr and cheap freelancers from poorer countries, which is why everything got messy in the first place. I guess I could have explored this avenue a bit more with them before parting ways. Thanks for the suggestion!
That is always tough. I always start every conversation with my minimum engagement rate just to avoid this. Doesn't work every time, but helps a lot
