I've tried to explain to normal people what CSS is and how standards changed the web, but it's the story of rebeccapurple (#663399) that really makes most people appreciate how human-scale the fight for the web was (and still is).

If your interview process asks me to upload a profile photo and/or has me interview with an AI, I'm fucken outtathere and I hope your company fails. At best you are a deeply uncritical person.

Is there a better term for this generation of AI outside of “intelligence”? I’m not wholly against AI by any means but it does paint the wrong picture for what these tools do.

A little over a year ago, I realized that Obsidian wasn’t suitable for my daily notes but could still be an excellent archive for important information. I’m now developing a template for a long-term storage personal wiki. I’ll release it once it’s fully completed.

I’m thinking of starting to look for someone to build Haiku with. I’m starting to feel stymied by my own technical skill slowing me down. Not 100% sure on that decision though yet.

I’ve been sitting on the same mockup for a new taurean.bryant.land site for like a month now. Debating on updating my site to a single html file that reads “if this isn’t the new design by [date], you have permission to yell at me via [email]”.

Remember those early days when skipping wireframes was considered digital design blasphemy, and going straight to high-fidelity mockups meant you were just another "pretty pixels" designer?

Related to my button design question from yesterday, being able to animate gradients on interaction transactions with CSS is such a welcome change. It's really cumbersome to do now but possible + supported by all major browsers!
