Personally, if I wanted choice I'd stick to Android and Linux. I just want things to work, and that's why I want to switch to iOS and macOS. Maybe an unpopular opinion, but I've used pretty much every mainstream OS except for iOS and they all suck in unique ways

Yeah there’s definitely pros and cons to all of them! Do you think it’s possible for things to be simple, elegant, and work well out-the-box, whilst still offering customisation for those that want it?

Maybe, but "simple" means different things to different people. For me, it means that I don't want to have to think too much about what I'm using, I just want to get stuff done, which is why I want it set up out of the box. For others, it could mean something else entirely

It looks like my wish is coming true… but only in the EU - damn you Brexit!

Simplicity with less choice

its about time that choice has become the default! “Simplicity” here is just having your choices delegated. This is a phone not a music playlist.

This doesn’t stand in its own. With this, you are starting a tug and pull game of every app prompting you to become default. Again and again. Choices can be expensive. And more: all that was seamless and integrated could now be disconnected.
