Taking lead on accessibility at my current place has opened up a whole new realization that so much of the internet and digital products today disregard these guidelines completely. 1 in 6 people have some form of disability. 1 in 6.

Have you read Laura Kalbag’s book “accessibility for everyone”? It totally opened me up to different types of disabilities I wasn’t thinking about, considering, or didn’t even know existed.
I used to work for a non-profit foundation in the open source space before the company I’m at today, and was doing a lot of DEI work which is in many ways adjacent to accessibility. Would love to hear how this transition has been for you, moving into an a11y lead role!
Oh that’s so cool. Yeah I’ll update periodically, I’ve only just dived in full time the last two weeks. Thanks for the book recommendation!
