Another great app to try: Obsidian “Canvas” feature

My Notion allegiance is being tested

Steve

Tbh Notion is getting more clumsy and laggy these, and the editor sucks

Alexander Lewis

I definitely agree, I feel I’ve just become accustomed to the experience. Are you using Obsidian then for all your “second brain” tasks?

Steve

Yup, tried a few different tools before including Notion, Obsidian, Logseq, Heptabase and so far I’d say I’m most comfortable with Obsidian

I’m just curious what is wrong with mymind?

Alexander Lewis
Replying to @verd

Do you use mymind? How do you like it?

Dima Veremchuk
Replying to @allexander

Simply put, I love it. It just stays out of sight and then I can easily find whatever I want in it. I like how it uses ML to detect objects on images and I love that it is not social (:

Alexander Lewis

That ML functionality is super impressive and so useful. Also the not social aspect is a huge huge plus. Thanks for sharing Dima!

A bit different, but I switched from mymind to raindrop.io and it’s the best subscription I have (there’s a free tier too i think).

Raindrop.io — All in One Bookmark Manager
For your inspiration, read later, media and stuff

I’ve heard about this one! Curious why did you choose to switch?

Alexander Liu
Replying to @allexander

I ended up mostly using mymind as a glorified bookmark manager, so full text search and highlights suited my workflow a lot better. I can honestly say that raindrop is the best subscription I have!

Got it that’s cool thanks for sharing!

Fabric.so has that option. You can grab screen selections - kind of like taking a screenshot but with a different keyboard shortcut

Alexander Lewis

This is a new one I haven’t heard! Thanks for sharing! The personal search engine is absolutely key too, so excited to see more tools built around this idea.

I’ve been testing it and like it. Especially the collections, and the ability to share each collection as links.

How do these options work on a mobile xp? I'm using pinterest because with the mobile app, I can share anything (website, tweet) and save it on pinterest.

Alexander Lewis
Replying to @gvns

I need to play around with them more and see which is best optimized for mobile use because I face the same struggle. I love that use case for Pinterest I just don’t need the whole “explore” experience as it’s far too distracting for me

João Araújo

100%, I don't spend any time on Pinterest apart from when I want to save smth or quickly grab something I saved.

I recommend a MilaNote milanote.com I think that Arena and MyMind are absolutely different things. But MilaNote is true alternative.

Milanote - the tool for organizing creative projects
