2. The LAYERS of the creative process when adapting a movie. The source material is very diff from the screenplay (aliens come for a whole diff reason), and the screenplay is different from the movie. The movie simplifies the screenplay even more and removes unnecessary lines

This exercise let me appreciate Ted and Denis' craftsmanship in writing and directing respectively, bc you see how they've iterated on the work they've been given. Want to do this with my other fav directors too!
