Hey Apple I see your Journal app, and raise you one old school Journal app icon. Loved making this and researching old icons. Such amazing design. I say we bring back the textures throughout and make apps playful again

Never done a Wrapped/ Replay post. Loved seeing @Busted in MCR and again next year have been a solid listen since the early days! The new album is fantastic if you get to listen to it.

Feel like it is making headlines, excited to see what the next 5 years holds for devices like this!

Very excited for The Boys S4. Needed to come back to some texture and depth, so remade the Vought logo a little extra!

Bit of an odd icon, but recently watched the new TMNT film and wanted to have a go at making an icon in the style we have seen in animated films recently. Not super impressed with the icon but wanted to share.

Not having a subscription to Figma make's it difficult sometimes to work on my own, but Freeform is actually a pretty useful app I have been enjoying a lot.

Another alt icon for @cv Posts, wanted to experiment with abstract shapes for the name and came up with this. Using a colour palette from Coolers pretty happy with this one and how pulled back it is. Only reads POST but liked the grid layout.

Old School, meet the new school! The crazy thing I love about icon design is how many subtle shapes and effects go into making it!

My favourite coffee shop at the minute is Bear in the UK and love the takeaway cups here. Sometimes it is good to get out of your normal environment, take a walk and just be. Still looking for jobs but need to keep the mental health in check.

I was experimenting with shapes and couldn't get past building out the traffic game where you have to release the red car...then kind of built the Slack logo...whilst also feeling like this has a XMas vibe....I need sleep 😄

In celebration of AI in Figma FigmJam, I want to come back to icons with depth and so many layer styles. As always these icons always become richer with thanks to Rogie's noise plugin. Go try it out!! Also...is deep purple just a universal colour for AI now? I see it everywhere.

Merry Birthingday to me! As another year unfolds, I'm pausing to reflect on the journey so far. Grateful for the lessons, the people I have met on here, and the growth I have achieved. Still a way to go but here's to embracing adventures ahead and the beautiful chaos of life!

Feel like it had to be done, finally created a messages icon, using Art Text and the Glass effect.

A friends of mine runs the ESports Awards and wanted to explore an icon for them. Imagine this would sit quite nicely for a companion app for the event. It is based off the award they present.

Wanted to explore a wood burning effect with an icon. Trickiest area here was blending the bark to the main wood texture. Turned out ok, but definitely room for improvement

I was walking through my town yesterday and noticed a lovely good will shop, but it looked more like an accountancy firm. I wanted to take a look at a friendlier more approachable icon.

Really gutted that I missed out on the @read_cv community icons for Posts, but still felt inspired by all the amazing contributions. With the release of iOS 17.1 it felt fitting to go old school! I have an Air Tag older I used for texture. The hardest part was making it look used

Wanted to explore some more textures, and I love the simplicity of the @joinbento logo, so what better logo to play with. I like the rim lighting I have on the internal pockets, this was a couple of different layer styles over a stroke.

These shaders in Art Text are just wonderfully smooth!

I love @peakdesignltd and frequently check their market place, and wanted to see what an app icon would look like if they launched it for mobile

Built an ol' faithful to to practice overlapping shapes. Had to create some wonderful drop shapes to get the right shade.

Not sure what it is but this gradient I recently made for a Smart Home icon was super pleasing.

First time submitting for a challenge, this app is great and use it daily. Also trying out a new BG to make the visuals more interesting. Let me know your thoughts and here is my submission for #GentlerIconChallenge

Slightly different icon today, my kid decided he wanted to be like his daddy and make an icon. I have a stencil from the iOS Icon book from Michael Flarup, he has commandeered it and has been drawing copying icons from my phone.
