Oh yeah Goodreads was another good one in its early days. Too bloated nowadays unfortunately. I've been trying Storygraph, but not loving it as much I want to. Haven't tried literal.club but that's another alternative in that space.
It's really interesting that on the surface, social platforms are all vaguely the same but small implementation details change a lot One thing I love about posts.cv is that the Highlights tab is so well curated that I never really felt like I had to actually follow anyone
What are some social platforms (past & present) that have inspired you? I've been using Letterboxd since 2014 or so and love it I don't use Are.na as much lately but that was a good one Lines (iykyk) has been a constant inspiration Once upon a time Flickr was a special place too
Sad to see everyone here saying their goodbyes already - we still have over 5 weeks to go before the switch to read-only! Let's make them fun and share lots of cool stuff!
I just registered posts.club, where I will be listing ongoing initiatives to keep the community here going beyond posts.cv's shutdown on February 28th. If there's anything you'd like to see added there, please let me know!
Posts.cv shutting down is so sad, the people here have been so great and there are so few wholesome little social corners like this on the internet. Any efforts to put together an alternative? I'd love to hear about them and get involved.
