On the other hand, can I know how your journey was to get a job at Pinterest? I like to believe that one day I'll be able to get into some big tech haha

uhh, i essentially built a Pinterest-like (really a FFFFOUND-like) as my senior thesis in college, then I got an internship at Facebook where the Pinterest cofounder was working on it in his spare time, and then joined as the first design hire once I graduated the following year.

Yes, I built the transitions UI and did a bunch of plumbing on the prototyping team there.

I love how these types of decisions are made based on metrics ❤️. On the other hand, I'm more into focusing on the pin I'm on, I don't know, I'm from the tumblr era hahs

While I was there, it wasn't shipped because the cofounder didn't think it looked good. But, double digit metric lifts are hard to deny.

It does seem like it's somehow still an A/B test so either they're bringing it back or they're using it for individuals who aren't very engaged.
