nothing but respect for web developers but I would love to know why so many of y'all insist on adding that “smooth scroll” inertia

I guess it looks fancy in client pitches? Also looks smooth for hardware that doesn’t have smooth scrolling built in… so old windows, or anything using a scroll wheel mouse.
