I primarily use it for working out and I feel it’s much more reliable and what the regular Apple Watch should be. The battery life is long enough between charges and can handle a full cycle of 2-4 workouts and a few nights of sleep tracking.

Definitely for those! But I still find my stainless steel more versatile. Great for all those things with a sport band but also great with a leather band for nicer events.
Yea but try it in person - size and weight seems to seal the deal for most folks. I love mine.
I’m arriving from a slightly different pov, mostly running, doing some cycling and hiking and bouldering, and a key reason for me to use a dedicated GPS watch is that a touchscreen can be the worst interface when it rains for a longer time.
I can barely use my iPhone in wet conditions with sweaty or wet hands, so unless Apple Watch Ultra has a solution for this, I’d think about it twice.
