Definitely seems like a smaller startup but the steps seem like it’d take a full 8 hours or so.

Luckily I am not job searching, it all seems daunting!

I guess I would assume that if someone might be a good fit, it’d be fairly obvious up front. I’ve been on hiring panels and I hated making people jump through hoops 😭

Yeah the portfolio review as the *3rd* step threw me off!

I think the white boarding is maybe also a take home.
I’m not searching but can’t help but nose around in the job descriptions!

Portfolio reviews are pretty standard, it’s the whiteboarding/take-homes that are the annoying part.

Sounds like a pretty small company if you’re meeting with CEO. I’ve mostly worked with companies of <10 people so that’s pretty normal to me.

References and additional interviews seems extra tho

Yes this one is but every hiring steps/process looks the same! so many interviews!

I’m always curious about what jobs are out there. 
I just read a description for “brand designer” that required:

1. Meet w CEO 
2. White boarding exercise with multiple people
3. A…portfolio review?
4. Another inteview
5. References

So many steps, it’s wild.

I’m at least heartened they don’t have a take home exercise. Best of luck in your job search!
