Great read, thanks for sharing your process! I'm also a fan of starting a new design in a simple text file as it forces me to think through the thing I am going to design. Here's the template I use (lukasrathmann.com/designdocument/), would love your feedback :)
This is great Lukas! I think the only drawback I can see that it feels a bit overwhelming? I think what I've found successful is to not set any requirements on what the outcome is, it can be 5000 words or 5 words. But I'll save your document :)
Yes, it's not a “one size fits all” solution. I use it as a starting point and then delete the parts I don't need for the particular task or get carried away while writing the brain dump :) Thanks for taking the time to look at it!
