Now, I’m not about to sit up here and say that older folks are inherently wiser because we’ve lived longer (though it does help), but what most of us are, friends, is tired. Our filters have eroded from overuse, and we have zero f**ks left to give. My default is raw honesty these days because it’s all I have the energy for, and right now, I need to have a chat with you all once again about this industry we call design.

Iconic gauges in the style of Apple CarPlay

Sometimes I’m 100% sure the direction I’ve taken is the right one. Other times… not so much. Does this color make sense for this CTA? Should I give up on this font? Would this page work better as a modal? Should I ask the Posts community?

I've noticed over the past year Google has made some really interesting UI choices with their products. For the life of me, I can't figure out why they would ship these updates as most of them seem poorly executed. Illegible font sizes, wonky padding, clashing colours, etc.

Coming from the other side of the world, I still struggle with Europe using the 24 hour clock to setup meetings. There, I said it. Crucify me.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. LinkedIn is an endless pit of shadow opportunities, empty inspirational quotes, and predatory employment data brokers. Ive just joined a team of well meaning recruitment enthusiasts that are hoping to offer an alternative.

Living in Manchester has its benefits. Turns out I’m super creative and motivated during rainy days☔️

Before everyone got obsessed with “disrupting markets” and “impressing investors” it was just “let’s build something cool and useful, hopefully people will use it”. We need to get back to that. I miss those days. I’m so over the “We’re changing the world” pitches.

I’m seriously considering moving to Thailand. Nothing beats the weather, the people and the flood of daily inspiration in Chiang Mai. Food is pretty awesome also. Only hang up is the time difference for western working hours. Hmmm.
