They do! It's based on a 1780s pattern of a stays of that era, so it molds the figure to achieve the silhouette of the period. It also has around 30~ steel bones to help the shape

No idea what Netflix says, just my impression 😅 I vaguely recall hearing women used to faint in the past from the tight corsets they were forced to wear? IDK though, I never did my research!
