Every time I'm on the phone with someone British, I feel like I'm absolutely bulldozing an innocent bystander. You didn't ask for me to call you, you didn't ask to be talked over, but literally how was I supposed to know you hated human contact???

Rule 1: Assume everyone hates human contact Rule 2: Hate human contact

Is there a way to do this w/o hate? I'm really bad at that.

Rule 2 is optional, but rule 1 is definitely worth keeping in mind. Another thing to remember is that it's usually not personal, some people just tend to be more cautious around others. That's not hatred, it's introversion. Lot of extroverts just don't seem to get that
