Cursor doesn't work if you have no internet connection. So I made myself a better setup. With the help of LM Studio, DeepSeek R1 Qwen 32B, VS Code, and Continue now I can work fully offline on my MacBook M4 Max. Continue also supports autocompletion. Plus MLX is twice as fast.

I don't have such a powerful machine, but I'd love to read how you connected all of this together, if you'll write it some time in the future ☺️

It's very easy to setup. You need LM Studio installed on your computer. Download the DeepSeek model in LM Studio. Start the server there by choosing the model you downloaded. In VS Code, install Continue extension, update settings for your local model and you can start coding.
