What do the lengths of the radiating lines convey?

Design exploration for a mobile dashboard that allows you to view your solar energy plant's performance in real-time. The dashboard shows you important metrics like current power output, total energy generation, and performance forecast.
We tried to show solar energy data, with a clock-like layout for the time aspect. It was an early idea, and while it was a fitting metaphor, this early draft lacked details to be clear. We eventually ended up going with a different visualisation that gets the point across better.
