Whenever I see someone’s LinkedIn with “ex-(company)” I just think that person was fired from that company.

Because you control the narrative. Including the employment history. I’m not saying it’s the case for everyone but I’ve seen people say “ex-meta” purely for the name value when I knew for a fact they were fired.
