If its a UI I deal with repeatedly—either a little but every day, or occasionally but many interactions in a session, it almost always feels annoying. For content / websites, anything built in Framer already feels grating b/c many templates have UI anims

This Craig Mod essay on Fast Software feels more and more true the longer I work and more I know about building software. UI animations almost always are in opposition to that truth

i think that's true -- but it also ties into the intention of the product right? it's pretty minimal here for instance and i also take it a lot calmer than other platforms?

Depends on the interaction, device, and context of the interaction. When done right, they’re near invisible and actually make the interface feel faster and more responsive
