Recently switched from Google to Kagi as my default search engine, and I noticed that I've developed a nasty habit of instinctively skipping the first few results because I'm so used to them being sponsored on goog 😂
I don’t even use search engines anymore. Just AI models and Perplexity. I only use Google if I’m looking at something for SEO purposes for clients.
Oh wow! I tried perplexity for a month, but the dealbreakers for me were 1/Limited, low-value sources 2/ Poor interpretation of nuance within those sources, even with models like Opus. I feel back on traditional search more often than I found perplexity helpful.
When’s the last time you used Perplexity? It’s gotten increasingly better constantly. I only just started using Claude because it’s now part of Raycast’s AI models. Opus is truly one of the best big models.
I think I’ll probably change my main usage to Mistral; I barely use GPT either. Raycast adds the ability to search the web with any of the models too.
