Mastodon & Posts are my favorites, though! (Don't tell the others!)

a lot of people wanted it to be mainstream (me included). but i gave up after my server shut down when the admin got mad about something.

My take is that it’ll lose its hype burn quickly. 

But unlike other newer apps, it’ll keep its fire due to its relationship with instagram.

I’m currently all in on Posts. I personally prefer the professional intent with subtle personal content of Posts vs a social platform built solely to entertain. I have books, film, and nature to entertain I don’t need nor do I desire streams of rambling text.

I think Posts is seriously superior of all. Maybe it will stay a niched little piece of heaven :)

Threads is poppin’ right now…

mastodon has been up and kicking for a while. It's not exactly mainstream specifically because of it's decentralized nature, tho.

it's not bad, but discoverability isn't great and signal to noise ratio largely dominated by voices you already know but way less awful than Threads

isn't blue sky full of twitter notables? i think it's the only one that will succeed in the long term. mastodon was the first one to "fail" - insofar that its decentralized nature can't really work for a "town square".

I don't have bluesky. How's the UI and energy there?
