I’ve collected a few notes about creating demos of my prototypes. Recently, I’ve received a lot of questions about my filming process, so I’ve decided to share these notes with you ✨ medium.com/@danielamuntya…
Really enjoyed reading your article, definitely a good muscle to build. Thanks for sharing!!
I shoot similar demo videos but I often struggle with flickering issue on screens. Do you have any tips on that?
If we are going to find a solution, I'll share it as soon as possible. I think the issue might be related to the new OLED screen on the latest iPhones.
if you’re shooting with a camera, try going for a faster shutter speed. in the past i‘ve always filmed with an iphone (stock camera app) and fiddled around with the auto exposure (make sure to lock it) and adjusting the target‘s device brightness.
Ohh I just saw your reply - thanks for the tip!! I usually take videos with a camera and it’s cumbersome as I only realize there’s a flicker when I move things to my laptop 😂 Maybe I should keep this in mind and go with higher shutter speed for those videos
Hey, thanks for your question! I've noticed this issue with the latest iPhone/iPad models, especially with the most recent versions. I'm working on investigating this with a few motion designers who have more expertise. That's why I'm using the iPhone 11 Pro in all of my videos.
I tried to do this, for example, but it doesn't always help me for some reason — jfdigitalmedia.co.uk/how-to-stop-li…
Great, yes please share more if you find the solution! I recently shoot some demos on iPhone 15 and my Dell monitor and blindly adjusting shutter speed sometimes helped, but wanted to better understand how this works :)
