Since I grew up with the prequels, Episodes 1-3 WAS Star Wars to me! Episode 3 is actually my favorite Star Wars movie lol. I do appreciate 4-6 more as a whole though in regards to the cultural impact they had on film and the sci-fi genre. Episodes 7-9 though...don't exist ๐

finally saw episodes 1-3 of star wars. we immediately followed it with episode 4. wild to see really bad filmmaking followed by excellent filmmaking...by the same guy! except decades apart and with hugely different budgets. says so much about technology as a narrative disaster.
7-9 are SO BAD. I think whichever ones you see first become THE star wars. i had my son watch 4-6 first. i'm sorry you think 1-3 is good, it's like....not good. look inside yourself, you know this is the truth.
Hey hey! To be fair I didn't say they were GOOD movies! Episode 3 is the best prequel movie though, and I will die on that hill lol. 1-2 doesn't do anything for me, but I did rewatch Episode 1 last April when it got re-released in theaters for its 25 year anniversary ๐ญ
alrighty i'm glad to hear this! i just finished 3 for the first time an hour ago... it's actually somewhat interesting. weirdly I like 1 the most. so anakin's mom is a slave and they just leave her there? i'd go insane too. qui-gon's actions are messed up!
The Jedi Order as a whole is pretty flawed. Imagine a Star Wars universe where each master had a padawan AND a therapist. Maybe then we wouldn't need 9 episodes of the same story lol.
I saw Acolyte earlier this year. Oof just too much Jedi dysfunction.
episode I cost approx one hundred times more than episode IV. (11m versus 115m). just egregiously horrifically terrible movie making.
