yea i've noticed a marked change with how many roles are advertised as "hybrid" and then you come to find out its 4 days in-office with a floating wfh day. It seems so infantile
nothing hybrid about that model. gotta stand up to the man here. gone are the days of donuts and butts in seats for me. even if that costs me a role or two... or three... just can't be a requirement in todays climate. says a lot about leadership too.
screams "you're just a cog, and disposable. i need you to know you're under my thumb and have no control or say. wave of my wand and you're gone."
I’m in Kansas City and I feel ya. Fortunate to have found a great hybrid role here, but definitely not feeling as confident in my options if anything was to happen.
yeah. I've left once before (no family at the time) and found my way back to chill speed of OKC. Location seems like an irrelevant requirement in todays age. All for in-person collaborating, but tech takes the cake for most necessary working. I'll travel the rest of the time.
Especially annoyed because so many of them mark their roles as remote but further reading the post usually ends up in some kind of hybrid compromise even if you have to come into work once a week. What do people not get about the term remote? haha
