I feel you. I made a dedicated media-only feed but people don't post enough work there (at least right now).
Yeah it’s the worst. They’re almost as bad as Twitter. It’s a relatively newer feature so I’m hoping they decide to be less aggressive about it in the future.
I wonder if with a custom client app you could host the higher-quality media elsewhere and serve that, while still serving the highly-compressed version on Bluesky itself for compliance 🤔
I’ve seen people build apps that looks like they’re not connected to Bluesky at all, eg bookhive.buzz. I bet someone could do something really cool with at-proto, cross-posting to two services at once via the same foundation.
