For most of my life, my art-making, whether it was drawing, writing or making comics, felt painful and fraught. But now – most of the time – creative practice is something that steadies me, something I rely on to think and feel my way through the world. It’s a source of deep joy. I’m going to share some ideas with you today that have helped me make that shift.

I find it crazy how there's this trend of glorifying neat, tidy, and aesthetically pleasing offices.

That's completely the opposite of what I consider exciting and inspiring: where's the mess? Give me papers, pens, ink, visual clutter, chaos.

I don't believe that this cleanliness works for any creative: it doesn't matter if your raw elements are words, images, or pixels. It's from chaos, diverse references, and unexpected connections that creative work will thrive.  Digital limits so much

The best project managers I've worked with were genuinely interested in bringing clarity to the tasks (the WHY), clearly defining the objectives (the WHAT), and skillfully delegating the execution (the HOW).

The tab bar navigation was removed from the Photos app on iOS 18. That's wacky. I can't see how this is an improvement.
