After 10 + years of following Misc. Goods … they dropped a hat and it’s perfect (like every product they release)

some recent branding explorations for a client. we ended up going a slightly different direction but I was feeling this one.

Teaching a point where side work is getting bigger, better and way more interesting… intimated and excited by this thought

There’s such a huge rift between designers who build in quiet and observe and those who are all in on engaging and connecting. 

It’s wild that two drastically different personas exist in the design sphere.

I really do appreciate the perspectives of other designers on this app and the folks replying to my last post. Thanks for taking the time to discuss that with me / each other. It has me thinking about more about the dynamics of the design community, sharing work and much more.

Damn @andyallen Vibes is so stellar. Charming, engaging, and well crafted. Even seeing snippets while it was WIP, the final product is a surprising delight packed with tiny details i’m loving.

i've recently figured out that "sales" is part of the equation. design is craft and that's already very intensive. then there's sales which every worker must become good at - be it selling yourself, your skills, your job...

Has anyone here, who traditionally doesn't do design education, been asked to give a crash course (paid) to a freelance client? Did you just charge normal rates? Did you teach them while working on their projet?

How do you think AI is gonna be implemented into interface design at large? Do you have any thoughts or predictions on what the “standard interface” might become? I see us already moving out of chatbots and the path forward can truly lead anywhere

there is a huge difference between someone asking for a random task due in 3 hours and me deciding to do it in the 3 hours before it’s due. I won’t be elaborating any further.

The place I am at is looking for a contracted Creative Director / Brand Specialist to unify our assets and brand into one source of truth. Would work with me and other teams in collaboration but would own the brand + guidelines + tangibles.
