An actual requirement or just a field for one? If it's the former you can always gently elaborate on that same bio. A line or two about what interests you about the opportunity, that sorta thing. If it's the latter... skip it! I always do haha.

A was referring to a required input field to attach a cover letter. But, I’ve seen required fields labeled “tell us a little more about yourself ” or “why do you want to work with us” etc… Those are more specific than a cover letter I would say.
