Just got back from Design Workout Berlin by Dimitry Barbanel — a pop-up design event for flexing your craft and problem-solving design muscles. Tasks varied from generating 10 ideas in 10 mins to deconstructing complex systems. Tons of fun and met very smart people.

I'm not sure I'll take any books released after January 2022 seriously. Maybe I'll change my mind later.

What happened to the Design Principles we were all crazy about in 2018?

What companies have the best brand language consistency (visual and copy) across multiple touch points, i.e. social, website, apps?

I overheard a thought from a front-end engineer: In fact, no one wants to work on design system components because it requires a lot of effort and brain power to consider all the states and edge cases, but everybody wants to work on solutions using these components.

The quality of a design can be easily evaluated by the size of the clickable area for the close button in a modal window. The larger and more accessible the clickable area around the icon, the better the design handoff and engineering quality.

I'd say it’s more of a desk reference than a one-time workbook. Its insights can be immediately applied to day-to-day work by anyone in a collaborative and creative environment, not only product designers.
