It may take some time and convincing but I'd venture to guess you're probably not the only person thinking this.. It may just take some evidence to get your boss on board

@tyo made a little plugin for us to generate the file layout on new files.

Is there a base/default Figma template where you work? If so, what does it look like?

There is but I'm kinda exempt from it (at least for now)

But my hot take is I think that kind of thing isn't really necessary and often times takes too much effort to have to reconfigure for every project

Easier to just let people organize their little shapes and texts imo

I agree with you! but my boss doesn’t…

Every file includes pages for…
– File Thumbnail/Cover
– Engineering, for all dev-ready frames
– Exploration/Crit, where all the “work” happens
– (Optional) Archive, to clean up unused exploratory iterations
– (Optional) Prototype

(No real in-page structure aside from titles.)
