Not sure anyone here is using record.club but if so, record.club/ron
Reiterates my theory that discovery remains the most difficult part of stickiness in any emergent platform. If people aren't finding reasons to come back, they won't invest the time. It's why curation is so important of those early users who create a culture/climate
I’ve never heard of record club but I could really use something like this :) To your point about discovery, there’s a growing number of users, consumers, and people that spend time without technology to communicate and study their interests.
I can definitely recognize how privileged I was in having access and a cool dad 🙏🏿 And curation is definitely a must. I think the challenge every brand has these days is how their product and service engages people “off-line”.
Yeah I think nothing still beats that curation & personal touch of hearing the music playing around the house
Have you ever heard of [untitled]? The work in progress music app?
And I imagine when there a lot g of practices and methods to curation that are being ignored. I remember as a child, my dads records and sound system being the organized and labeled as if I was in library😁
When the space was analog with digital components, the liberty of creating and discovering inputs was both healthy in the environment and good for us as a family to share 😌. Really giving me intimate time with records without drowning in the ocean of content we have today.
And a great sign that music is branching to a democratized zone, is the interest many people are having in bringing music curation out of the clubs or Spotify playlists and learning how to create sets in laundry rooms or elevators and broadcasting their favorite songs on YouTube.
