I built upon @shu method for rotating borders. I adjusted the percentage each side takes up on the animation timeline dynamically and added support for bigger elements.

I now only need to select an element by ID in a small JS script, adjust the color and the rest just works

The iPod was simple, iTunes was complex. I would use the feature rich, but complex iTunes to purchase music, and setup my playlists. But, I used the distractions-free iPod to listen to music. I miss that approach. Today, everything feels so complex all the time.
