There's an initiative to make a successor of this masterpiece and some background information would be huuuugely helpful if this is something the team can share?
@andy you all probably have your hands full with everything, but would the team be up for a knowledge sharing session regarding Posts & Read?
What I'd be interested about running a site like this is: - The infra it runs on? - How do you manage the infra costs? - What would you do different if you were starting again? That's just at the top of my mind, I'm sure more people would chip in with more questions 😊
I'll leave it to @mehdi to cover our infra but — we manage infra costs via our monetization channels (supporters, job listings, etc). It cost around $4k a month to run.
If I were to start again I would hire someone to focus on business partnerships — we may have been able to spin up a white glove recruiting business? Not something we're passionate about, but may have been a more significant source of revenue.
infra is pretty simple, basically: - firebase/firestore - redis - vercel - cloudinary the overall code is pretty simple too. the magic sauce is moreso in the product thinking behind it
Yeah, could you expand a bit on how you’ve used design thinking in your case?
