I only know of the Dua Lipa album. What are others?
How is every popular pop/dance/radio song that came out recency just a bad remake of an 90/00s song but with completely different lyrics? This feels so stupid to me, like, why the new lyrics if you reuse the tune and everything? Makes no sense 🫠
Oh there’s too many to write hut for example: Summer’s back - Alok & Jess Glynne -> which is a “remake” the legendary Sing it back by Moloko David Guetta & Bebe Rexha - I'm Good -> which is a “remake” of Blue - Eifel 65
Both have the same tune but “summer” lyrics, which just ruin the feel of the original songs in my opinion. For example the Moloko song has a totally different meaning as the remake. Which I don’t really get. If you’re doing a remake, wouldn’t it make sense to preserve the feel?
I imagine that it costs less to sample a song rather than do a cover version of it
Sure yeah, this makes sense. It feels like a letdown for people that know the originals though, as you feel like you know the song bit it’s totally different at the end 😅
