Farewell to everyone I interacted with on here, it was great to share a bit of internet time with you. I’m on Bluesky if anyone wants to say hi. bsky.app/profile/daveha…
Any recommendations on a mockup tool? Preferably not one that requires a monthly sub.
I "sit" on my work a lot to decide whether it's actually good. I'll keep it open on my computer for hours or days at a time and cast fresh eyes on it before showing others. Does anyone else do this?
Design competition idea: 10 designers all get the same json string and a short brief, best figma design wins. Anyone got a good title for this for me?
My most popular shot on Dribbble is one of the biggest UI regrets i've made in the past couple of years - go figure.
Mouseback is now in alpha! mouseback.app. My little feedback widget now has an official release. I built mouseback because I wanted to start receiving figma comments on my real code prototypes, and I use it time and time again in my personal work.
If I wasn't awake to the dangers of who we let build AI before this week. I certainly am now.
Developers: Introducing RocketOS - a fully open source operating system for rocketships, free forever. Designers: I made a wallpaper pack in figma in 5 minutes on a Sunday, $20 please.
Pray for the guy that has my phone number +1 digit. He must get so much effing spam
Anyone got recommendations for marketing sites that look beautiful on mobile? Most sites look 10x better on desktop than mobile imo.
If anyone knows any iOS contractors, we've got an immediate need for someone over the next month or two.

By far the most difficult thing i've found about getting Mouseback ready for release is deciding what to work on next and being focused on it. There's so many things that are important and need building it feels like playing whack-a-mole in my brain.
Been thinking loads lately about how nobody wants to start from scratch with things they're trying to get done and how to design for that experience. Framer optimizes their product for this beautifully imo. Things like Notion Templates or GitHub template repos too. Any others?
For anyone who showed an interest in mouseback.app back when I posted it - it's still coming! I'm hoping to onboard some folks in the next few weeks. If you're particularly interested reach out via DM and i'll bump you to first victim!
Figma community files are such a gamble, sometimes i'll search for something I think is super niche and there'll be a beautiful resource with exactly what I need. Others I search for simple things and all I get is super low effort spam files 😅
Can we all agree on a special designer email / password so I can come into your UI, poke around and play with all the buttons and screens without needing to sign up? I promise I won't break anything, I just want to play with your toys.
Seeing so many people out and about in these "quiet luxury" neutral stone and beige colours - I wonder if it's going to make it's way into web/app design too?
Watched Hearts of Darkness this weekend, it's a masterpiece. One of the best movies i've ever seen in terms of watching a creator at the height of his powers throw himself completely into what he was creating. Very inspiring stuff. imdb.com/title/tt010201…
Dribbble is weird, I started uploading loads of heavy WIP stuff at the start of this year. Got absolutely no traction on it. Now after like 6 months I'm suddenly getting a lots of likes and engagement on my content.. I wonder why
This chrome extension has been an absolute life saver ever since I started mostly designing in the browser. Anyone got other recs?
Looking forward to trying this out v0.dev
This is a reely good one nts.live/shows/moxie/ep…
It's weird how coffee was disgusting as a kid but now i'm an adult I wake up every morning thinking how much I can't wait for that cup of hot brown mud
Is there a Mobbin alternative for iPad app inspiration? I'm doing some work on an iPad app this week and it's slim pickings for finding onboarding inspo.
Any Apple Music users here that care to share their favourite work playlists? I'm in a bit of a musical rut at the moment.
It's been a couple of weeks since I put up the landing page for mouseback.app and i've had way more signups and feedback than I imagined. It's making me so motivated to work on it. Now I just have the ridiculously hard task of prioritising what needs building next!
Hey all, I've been hacking on this app for a few months: mouseback.app. It's a lil tool I've made to bring figma style comments onto the websites and apps I design - an attempt to bridge the gap between software builders and stakeholders.
This album consistently makes its way up my faves of all time with every listen youtu.be/uFa5Hin6vn8
What's an example of a "wind up" ui? I'm trying to recreate advancing film or "winding up" film on a camera but I can't think of any examples of this on mobile devices?
There should be a design version of marginal gains where every single small annoyance you fix or remove in a product or service the % chance of your products or services long term success increases.
Making the most of some lunch downtime to make a couple of replacement icons for my new favourite app cursor.so

Posties, what would you do if you had to design a form like this, where each input needs to have its own menu of actions attached to it? The current idea I have feels very icky:

Hey all, i'm hiring a designer at Artificial. It'll go up on read.cv soon but posting here first if anyone wants to get a jump on that ad going up. Feel free to DM if you have questions 🙂apply.workable.com/artificial/j/B…

Glancing back on twitter today has made me realise how much self promo there is on that site. I really hope posts manages to keep it minimal, it’s a much more friendly space to visit without it all.
