How would you hope this community is different from Design Twitter?
I would hope it’s a genuine / honest mix of design as a career and the people behind it. I am a sucker for getting swept up in the $400k TC job chat at insert big company here so I do want to see cliche tech bro stuff but there’s also rockstars at some startup in Delhi…….
The incessant need to grow grow grow a company to please shareholders and stakeholders for the sake of valuation is what ruins most nice new things. Because some colossal boring dildo comes along and says “wow cool….how can THIS be the next *insert unicorn here*
I think you and I are going to have a differing opinion here. I work for a VC firm—it doesn’t have to be that way, nor is that the goal of all business!
You are right that hyper-growth has negative consequences, but Post isn’t going to solve late stage capitalism.

…latest trend OR get really really into posting absolutely dogshit takes like “Figma is for doodling”. On some level everyone here right now is here because they like new things, they like the people that love design and WANT something just a little less awful.
It’s why LinkedIn added stories, it’s why Facebook messed about with a clubhouse competitor, it’s why Spotify added a TikTok feed and mother of fucking god it’s why TikTok copy pasted BeReal BECAUSE GOD FOR BID 1 of their 8 million users takes 30 seconds away from time on TikTok
So how do we make it great and better? Maybe do what League of Legends does, use whale players to offset the cost of everyone else. Charge me £2-3-5pm. Maybe be really innovative and give me a little blue checkmark.
